Review of a 17 year old animu

So, after many years, I finally re-watched, and finished my favorite anime of my childhood, one that I, along with others stayed up for hours and hours past our bed time, till 11pm to watch.  Yu-Yu-Hakusho.  It. Was. Amazing.  I was filled first of feelings of pure nostalgia, then awe as the series progressed, surprise as I finally caught up to where I'd previously left off, and remorse when it was all over.  It was truly a great show, one of the greatest in my opinion.  My only one gripe is that in an ironic twist, it didn't have ENOUGH filler, Yusuke never had a change to play actual detective, and hardly ever used any of his spirit items.  And Kuwabara only used his duel swords and sword whip once, and Hiei only went into his demon form once, which was a little disappointing in my opinion.

My favorite season was the first, without a doubt, had amazing pacing, captivating plot, full of surprise and intrigue.  I found the Dark Tournament saga to be just a little disappointing in the plot, though great in the fighting aspect and drama. Chapter Black was my second favorite, bring back most everything that was in the first saga, and never came around to disappoint.  The Three Kings Saga on the other hand, just felt off, though still not bad.  The off feeling only came from everyone's "sudden" character development, that came round during a year long montage.  Also it felt like it was mostly there to complete a few things that every anime needs; a beach episode.  Go ahead and think of an anime without a beach episode, or a shonen without some kind of tournament, hah!  Because as everyone knows, tournaments are the natural way to solve all problems!

Sorry for the delay!

Had some issues, one of them, being sent into a catatonic coma due to some of the new spoilers. mostly due to this little number

"So I heard you like $40 cards"

Mixed feelings here, though I'm glad mono red finally got a decent 'walker, this guy is a little crazy, at least in my mind, and here's why.
Assuming mono red, which is clearly where his strength lays, you can drop him 4th turn, and have either have a 4/4 swinging to accompany him, or cast him for "free" and have 4 mana to do other things with, like continue your RDW assault.  5th turn, assuming you had a reliable mana drop, he can give you 10 mana.  I wonder if anyone will care to run Kozilek with him, in a RDW.  That's just my silly musings.  I don't need to go on a rant about this guy alone, but more on all of the new 'walkers, and how they just keep inflating the powerlevel of this game, like Yu-Gi-Oh back in the day. That said, as a red player, and a timmy, I can't wait to get my hands on him.

Now then, as some of you may know from my handle (Dara Strix, Darastrix) I like dragons. Dragons, dragons, dragons.  Magic always prints them, and they're rarely anything to wow over.  In M11, they said that Baneslayer would replace Serra, and in the same breath said that there would be a new dragon to replace Shivan Dragon, I hoped, and dreamed of some amazing dragon, on the tier of Kokusho, then, they give us Ancient Hellkite, and I made a frowny face ='[ .  But, now in Scars of Mirrodin, it looks like we might get some dragons that will fulfill my hopes!  Behold, the mighty Skithiryx, the Blight Dragon
5 for a 4/4 Flying Infect.  If you have an extra B lazing around, you can give it haste!  And for BB you can Regenerate it!  Just keep on lookout for white though. But wait, there's more!  Normally, he would have to hit directly 5 times to solo your opponent, but with infect, he only needs to hit 3 times, giving your opponent 4 poison counters each time.  Just remember, it doesn't deal actual lifepoint damage.

The next dragon, Steel Hellkite, had me clapping,  6 for 5/5 flying with {2}: Firebreathing and something of a built in Pernicious Deed, though it's only against the player it dealt combat damage to, and no sacrifice required.  Brings out the Timmy in me, that's for sure.

It's coming!

That's right, the Infernal Spawn of Evil!  And no, not a mouse holding a cup of joe!   I'm talking about Scars of Mirrodin, and all the love, anger and sorrow that comes with it.
Only around 20 cards have been spoiled so far from http://mtgsalvation.com/scars-of-mirrodin-spoiler.html#4521  and wow, things do not look good, in a good way!  As in NOTHING LOOKS BAD AS IN EVERYTHING LOOKS WOOOOOH POWERFUL!  Sure, you know the days of Goblin Hero are long gone, but the standard keeps getting higher and higher!  Now we're talking about a planeswalker that gives 3+ turns of unblockable to your creatures  though at least his cost is fair.   Unlike the Wurmcoil Engine!

6 colorless for a 6/6.  Okay, not a bad threat that any deck can use.  Now give it deathtouch, well, that's not much, 6/6 hardly needs deathtouch.  Now give it Lifelink!  And now you have John-Everydecks late game.  But, at least it's fragile, right?  Everything from Naturalize, to Shatter, to Doomblade gets it.  Well, it appears we can't get a good card, that is good in it's own right anymore, not since Jund anyways, people want that one card to be more then just that one card!  So now, when you kill the Wurmcoil, it splits in half, giving you a 3/3 deathtouch, and a 3/3 lifelink.  Mmmmhmmm.

"It's an okay card I guess, but my opponent can just Doomblade it, and then I got nothing!"

Okay, I guess that's a little extreme, but my jaw dropped a little bit at that card.

Now, as I talk about Memnite, I want you to close your eyes and imagine if it was in during the Reign of Ravager.  0, for a 1/1 artifact creature.  yep, that's now the importance of creatures, an uncommon, no cost body.  I think it's kinda cute myself, speaking of cute, I'd like to welcome back the alloy/mana myrs!  I love these little fellas, perfect addition to an casual deck.    Well, this was just a rant post.  I'll come back tomorrow to give what I like, hopefully there will be more spoilers around then!

Shaman King, Yet Another Abridged Series

So, finally was able to totally buy a totally legit copy of Adobe Master Collection CS 4, so work on Shaman King Yet Another Abridged Series continues.

Currently trying to manipulate my voice to Morty (Manta), and well, I just can't, even my friend/ partner, who's be practicing voice acting forever can't do it.   I'm convinced whoever voiced him is some kind of mutant!   But, I'm trying my best, and I'm kinda close.  I'm also trying out for Ryu, and some others.

In the meantime, here is a wallpaper I made
And a link to the trailer my friend made, though I think I need to convince him to redo it a little, since this was before we got CS4

A series of tubes!

No, not the internet, the magical workings of the "mordern" plumbing system in my house, made by hand, by the previous owner.  Roots growing in, growing out, having to call the plumbers every 6 months so they can lug their 500 pound snake, up onto the roof, where the main valve is.

Also, whenever the sprinklers turn on, the toilet runs,
The washing machine drains into the sink before going down.
And twice a year the front toilet causes the back tub to back up and vice verruca
The whole thing is a mess.

LETS GO CRAZY!

Just bought Tatsunoko vs Capcom recently, powered through the stories to get Zero, and I have to say, I am impressed, an all together fun game, with diffrent things to do, and even a varitiy of controler types, each suited to it's own level.  Can use the basic GCN controller if you're serious about your fighters, or a Wiimote/ nunchuk for people who want an eiser time to play.  So, all over a good game, and worth a try, definatly a good hold-over til Marvel Vs Capcom, can't wait to play as Dante in that.

Also, the bit about this game being designed in part for the GCN (Game Cube Controller) That brings me to a little rant.  Why did they stop making the official GCN controllers?  Those where so nice, and I've sure put mileage on mine, making it a little lose in the stick now, along with some other problems.  I've tried other controllers too.
Mad Catz: It's Mad Catz, enough said really.  Every gamer has had exactly one (1) Mad Catz controller, and then used it for exactly one (1) day.

Gamestop Brand: $15 for gamestop brand new, $15 for old used Nintendo produced.  Though, it's not really too bad, but it still has an odd feel.

"Korean Brand": Or the cheap, $5 kind you can buy at a small mall kiosk, already missing one screw, and the B button doesn't work.  A good prank to pull on your Brawl rival.

So, a prayer to the gaming gods, please restart production of the original GCN controller, I love them so much, I even took two of my broken ones, soldered some of the bits together, to make my current, working one!

Movie rough draft

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H8uasOrjEY0

Rough draft of a little movie I made for my clan a while ago, for some reason, I can't get myself to finish it, probably because I don't feel like buying photoshoop premier.

Welcome to Fail Stab

This will be a simple blog, I will use to conical my shortcomings and achievements, in Team Fortress 2, and other games
